Brochon

Brochon: where wine weaves its history

We arrive in Brochon, a little gem of a Côte de Nuits winegrower, nestling between Fixin to the north and Gevrey-Chambertin to the south. With just a few hundred inhabitants, Brochon, its landscapes and vineyards, brings together everything we love: authenticity, terroir and inspiring calm.

Getting there

The vineyards, the appellations and the exceptional terroir

Brochon does not have its own village or grand cru appellation, but its land is farmed under the Gevrey-Chambertin and Côte de Nuits-Villagesappellations. The terroir combines limestone, slope and ideal exposure: pinot noir thrives here.

Heritage, atmosphere and village life

Stroll past the Château de Brochon, the neo-Renaissance Château Liégeard built at the end of the 19th century and the local architectural landmark, now the Lycée Stephen Liégeard. In Brochon, you can walk the streets, look up and discover the church, the narrow streets, the winegrowers’ houses and the Bollée wind turbine: all the little touches that add character and charm.

Rise early to see the mist in the vineyards, walk halfway up the hillside to breathtaking viewpoints. Book a tasting session at an estate to sample a Gevrey-Chambertin from a parcel in Brochon. You dine like an epicurean, your glasses full, the aromas of red fruit, undergrowth, liquorice and earth mingling. The evening is calm, with only the wind whispering through the leaves.
