Les Maranges

Les Maranges, the grand finale of the Route des Grands Crus

At the southern end of the Route des Grands Crus de Bourgogne, Les Maranges marks a gentle transition into Saône-et-Loire, where the vineyards change pace without losing their soul. Here, the road slows down, the landscapes open up and the terroir reveals itself without artifice. It’s a confidential, authentic region, the perfect way to end your journey… in style.

Getting there

Les Maranges, an area with three voices

Les Maranges comprises threewine-growing villagesCheilly-lès-Maranges, Dezize-lès-Maranges and Sampigny-lès-Maranges – united under the same appellation and identity.

On these south-facing rolling hillsides, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay find an ideal playing field. The wines, classified as Village and Premiers Crus, are seductive for their balance: crisp fruit, controlled freshness, supple tannins and great depth.
Less well known than their Côte de Beaune neighbours, Les Maranges cultivate a more discreet, freer approach. Here, wineis discussed with simplicity, time is taken to exchange ideas, and each encounter becomes an experience in its own right.

Must-sees in the village

Les Maranges can be explored on foot, by bike or simply along the narrow streets. The paths wind between low stone walls, wine-growing hillsides and small woods, offering beautiful views over the southern Burgundy vineyards. An invitation to slow down, observe and breathe.

The region is full of family-run estates, often handed down from generation to generation. The tastings are on a human scale, in a warm, no-fuss atmosphere. You’ll discover sincere cuvées, faithful reflections of the terroir, and above all passionate winemakers, happy to share their expertise.

With its gourmet restaurants, local produce and charming accommodation, Les Maranges is the ideal place to enjoy Burgundy in a different way. Here, pleasure comes from simplicity: a good plate, a good glass of wine, a view over the vineyards.

Setting course for Saint-Vincent Tournante 2026

In 2026, Les Maranges will be in the spotlight when it hoststhe Saint-Vincent Tournante, the emblematic festival of the Burgundy wine region. For a weekend, the villages will be alive with parades, tastings, ephemeral cellars and wine-making traditions.
It’s a popular, joyous and unifying event, celebrating wine, the land and those who bring it to life. All the more reason to come and discover – or rediscover – this last stage of the Burgundy Grands Crus Route… in an unforgettable atmosphere.
