Ladoix-Serrigny

Ladoix-Serrigny, the nugget between vine and history

Hold on tight, because in Ladoix-Serrigny, you can’t decide between red and white! Situated just a few minutes from Beaune, this village lives to the rhythm of the Route des Grands Crus de Bourgogne in the Côte-d’Or, at the heart of the famous UNESCO-listed Climats. Here, every stone and every vine tells a story. In just 10 minutes, you’ll pass through narrow streets to the vineyards of Ladoix, Corton and Corton-Charlemagne. In 1 hour, you can enjoy a wine tasting in a cellar where time seems to stand still. And as you turn the corner, you’ll be transported straight back to the 19th century, when wine was already being exported to the four corners of the world. In short, Ladoix-Serrigny is Burgundy in its most authentic glass.

Getting there

A village with a local flavour

You look up and the hill of Corton stands proudly in front of you, like a natural crown of vines and leafy trees. Below, the winegrowers’ houses and estates breathe hospitality, ready to welcome travellers along the main shopping street. Here, full-bodied red wines and elegant whites make the reputation of the appellation. Each parcel of vines is a little treasure: that’s the spirit of the Climats de Bourgogne.

Must-sees in the village

If you’re a fan of old buildings, there’s plenty to do here! Between the Romanesque church of St Marcel, built in the 12th century, where you can admire magnificent marble altars and a superb stained-glass Pieta window, and Notre Dame du chemin, which for a thousand years has watched over Ladoix and particularly over expectant mothers (including the duchesses of Burgundy! ), rising to the top of a hill, not forgetting the Château de Serrigny built in the 18th century and its beautiful 7-hectare English-style park… there’s never a dull moment in Ladoix! And of course, at the heart of the Route des Grands Crus de Bourgogne, here in Ladoix-Serrigny, no fewer than 12 winegrowers open their doors and their bottles to you!

The village of Ladoix-Serrigny exudes generosity and conviviality, as evidenced by the Gourmet Walk organised every year on the first weekend in July, an opportunity to discover the village’s winegrowers and their wines. No fewer than 3,000 people come to walk, taste and share in this hospitality!
