Fixin at the summit of the Côte de Nuits

You reach Fixin, to the south of Brochon, when the Burgundy Grands Crus route begins to take on slope and character. This village dominates the first balconies of the Côte de Nuits. You can hear the singing of the vines, lulled by the wind on the hillsides, breathe in the fresh morning air and watch the light glide over the vines.

Getting there

At the foot of the valleys, at the top of the vineyards

At Fixin (pronounced “Fissin”), the vineyards rise up and invite you to take in the view. Starting out from the village, the 2 x 100-step path offers a wonderful escape between the hillsides and the Climats. Guided by the Balades en Bourgogne app, the walk can be taken at your own pace, punctuated by explanations of the landscape, soils and local winegrowing history.

On arrival, the panorama rewards the effort: the vines stretch as far as the eye can see, and the Route des Grands Crus de Bourgogne is already taking shape before your very eyes. It’s an invigorating walk, ideal for getting a new perspective on the terroir.

Must-sees in the village

Away from the hustle and bustle, Parc Noisot invites you to take a break from time. Laid out in the XIXᵉ century by Claude Noisot, a former Napoleonic officer, this landscaped garden pays tribute to the Emperor, whose statue watches over the heights. Between tree-lined paths, clearings and a belvedere overlooking the Dijon plain, the walk combines nature, history and panoramic views. A unique place, both discreet and inspiring, where you can take the time to slow down before returning to the Fixin vineyards .

A short distance away, the cliffs of Fixin mark the transition between vineyards and wilderness. The site, popular with walkers and climbers, offers a striking contrast with the rows of vines below. This mineral setting is a reminder of the extent to which the Côte de Nuits is shaped as much by its topography as by its vineyards.
