Vines with fangs
In just 10 minutes, you’re transported from everyday life to a complete change of scenery: the vines embrace the limestone hillsides, the green valleys stretch towards the horizon and the landscape seems to whisper “take your time”. The village’s wine-growing history began in the 7th century, when the Abbey of Bèze donated vine plants. Although Couchey’s vineyards have been through a great deal of upheaval over the years, you can still taste the wines produced here under the Marsannay appellation since 1987. And the “Wolves” (the nickname given to the locals) of Couchey are carrying on this heritage with panache!
