Between Pommard and Meursault, Volnay unfurls its charm like a ribbon of vines on the Route des Grands Crus de Bourgogne in the Côte-d’Or. Here, the wine-growing village exudes wine, tradition and an exceptional hillside setting… even if the real treasure is underground. In just a few steps, you’ll find yourself among the vines, passing through typical lanes with the scent of the terroir. With its precious vineyards and refined wines, Volnay displays its identity like a ruby smile: the promise of an unforgettable experience.

Volnay is surrounded by 212.55 hectares of vineyards, including 125.88 hectares of Premier Cru and 29 legendary climats. Although the appellation was created in 1937, its distinctive character has been talked about since well before the French Revolution, and its wines were even exported as far back as the 5th century! Here, you can taste Pinot Noir in all its finesse, with a ‘feminine’ style characterised by a ruby colour and fruity, spicy aromas. Drinking this beverage is said to give you the sensation of a “kiss”. Clos Élégance regularly plays host to female celebrities, who come to plant symbolic vines to promote the wines of Volnay in a spirit of sisterhood, against the backdrop of a breathtaking panorama.

Like a postcard setting, the village of Volnay features winegrowers’ houses, dry stone walls and winding lanes. Stroll past the church, listen to the stories of the locals and, backed by the Chaignot hillside, linger over the quality of the soil. You’ll discover a thousand-year-old patchwork worthy of a real goldmine, with shades of limestone ranging from pink to chalky white, not forgetting pretty pale greens.
