Just a stone’s throw from Vosne-Romanée, Flagey-Échézeaux plays the low-key card… yet is home to some of the world’s most coveted wines. There’s no Grand Cru in the name of the village here, but there are some legendary plots in the vineyards. This is a special stop on the Burgundy Grands Crus route, where you can discover greatness without ostentation.

Flagey-Échézeaux, an exceptional terroir

The village is closely linked to two emblematic Grands Crus: Échézeaux and Grands Échézeaux. These exceptional parcels, among the largest in the Côte de Nuits, are planted on complex clay-limestone soils, ideal for the finest expression of Pinot Noir.
In the glass, the wines stand out for their depth, structure and ageing potential, while retaining a remarkable elegance. A wine of character and precision that has made the village famous far beyond Burgundy’s borders.

      Flagey-Échézeaux is best explored on foot, walking along the rows of vines at Les Échézeaux and Grands Échézeaux. The paths offer a direct immersion in one of Burgundy’s most prestigious wine-growing landscapes. It’s the ideal way to understand the importance of the Climats, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

        The village is home to a number of renowned family-run estates, where tradition is passed down with great care and passion. The tastings, which are often confidential, give you the chance to talk directly to the people who make these great wines, in an authentic, unpretentious setting.

          Flagey-Échézeaux has preserved its typical Côte de Nuits architecture: stone houses, old wine cellars and peaceful lanes. A hushed atmosphere, ideal for strolling and contemplation, far from the hustle and bustle of the busier villages.
