Bach Festival at Bacchus

Ajouter aux favoris

It’s an idyllic picture: a legendary wine-growing village at the heart of the Route des Grands Crus de Bourgogne in the Côte-d’Or, renowned artists making the centuries-old stones vibrate, and glasses clinking. Welcome to Meursault, where every July since 1986, the De Bach à Bacchus festival has transformed heritage sites into an exceptional setting for unforgettable concerts. This festival brings together music lovers and gourmets around the same credo: celebrating Baroque music and its flamboyant art of living.

A score worthy of a great vintage

The programme here has the flavour of a great vintage. There are no fewer than 15 concerts on offer each year, and every note matches its setting, be it a church, a vineyard or a room steeped in history. And because Meursault is all about combining pleasures, the concerts are accompanied by guided tastings, dinners with the artists and even themed tours. In an atmosphere where wine and music go hand in hand, you can go from a Bach-Mozart match to a Meursault-Puligny match in half the time.

A village on stage

Walking through Meursault during the festival is like stepping back in time. The blonde stones, prestigious vineyards and beautiful houses have seen many a grape harvest and village festival. Did you know that many scenes from the film La Grande Vadrouillewere filmed here?

When Bacchus invites himself to the party

It’s impossible to separate Meursault from its golden nectar. Here, wine is a second language, spoken with passion by the winemakers who open their cellars (look out for those with the Vignobles et Découvertes label). The festival is a real celebration, where culture becomes a pretext for conviviality.
